As 2014 draws to a close, many of us will be spending that time with friends and family, and reflecting on this last year. In the spirit of the season, I'd like to thank all of you for being outstanding representatives of the ophthalmic profession, and for your dedication in providing excellence in eye care to patients around the globe. Your work improves the lives of our patients, and giving the gift of sight is perhaps the greatest gift of all.

2014 has been a banner year for JCAHPO. In the spring, we launched two new online ventures; EyeCareCE, and the EyeCareMarketplace, allowing Ophthalmic Medical Professionals to obtain certification credits on-demand, and offering easy access to on-line ordering for study and reference material for technicians.

Just two months ago, we held our 42nd Annual Continuing Education Program in Chicago, which was a resounding success. Over 2,000 technicians converged on the Windy City for four days of excellent lectures and workshops. And, by the end of the year, we will have completed initial work on the JCAHPO Job-Task-Analysis survey. We hope you participated.

Looking ahead to 2015, JCAHPO will launch a completely redesigned website, and we will continue to expand our catalog of online courses and distance learning publications. We also encourage you to save-the-date for our 2015 Annual Continuing Education Program in Las Vegas!

All of us at JCAHPO extend a warm Thank You to our hundreds of committed volunteers who continue to donate time and talent to our organization, and congratulations to you all for your commitment to quality patient care by being certified and continuing your education. I look forward to celebrating your commitment to quality patient care this coming year.
