After more than twenty years of clinical and administrative ophthalmology experience, a person may tend to think it might be time to slow down or maybe not work quite as hard. But Sharon Alamalhodaei, COMT, isn’t thinking about slowing down anytime soon. In fact, she is working harder than ever before!

“Bring your personal best” is Sharon’s professional mantra – and she lives and breathes it. Sharon has been JCAHPO-certified since 1994. She has worked as a COMT, a Clinic Manager/Practice Manager, in medical & surgical assisting, among other positions; however, her passion lies in educating others and motivating them to become THEIR personal best.

Sharon started her own business four years ago, Eye Tech Training, and travels weekly all across the country conducting staff trainings, technical skills assessments, hosting certification exam courses, and providing one-on-one follow up training.

In her “free time,” Sharon is also an author & designer! Her two books, How to be The Tech Your Doctor Can't Live Without and 10 Steps to a Phenomenal Patient Experience - Customer Service Secrets for the Eye Care Team, have been popular sellers on her website and also in the JCAHPO bookstore (www.jcahpo.org/marketplace). Her exclusive design of a unique, clear pupil gauge has quickly become a best seller. Sharon explains, “My pupil gauge is not opaque; it’s clear, making it simple and quick to measure pupil size accurately and easily.” It also has a handy pupil characteristics chart of abnormal pupils for reference. “It is so critical,” she said “to get it right!”
