The 1st Annual JCAHPO ERF Silent Auction will take place during the Annual Meeting in Chicago, October 17-20!

This will be an exciting event because it actually helps you! As you already know, ensuring that ophthalmic medical technicians have proper and on-going training is integral to the success of our field.

The Foundation Board of Directors is passionate about this. Their goal is to assist as many OMP as possible with scholarships and grants for continuing education and certification. These awards are not based on financial need alone – applications are open to all ophthalmic assistants, technicians, and medical technologists – always have been, always will be.

Last year alone the Foundation awarded over $38,500 in scholarships and grants to 123 OMP. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has awarded more than $833,000!

Now you can help us raise funds and take away something for yourself too! We have some great auction items for you to bid on - the support has been terrific! If you know of a company or clinic that might be interested in donating auction items, ask them to contact Janice Prestwood, JCAHPO General Manager, at janice@jcahpo.org.

This should be a fun and lively interaction among the ACE attendees! Stop by the bookstore in the Mobley Room, lower level of the Hilton Chicago Hotel, to place your bid(s) on Saturday, October 18th. Winning bids will be posted beginning Sunday morning, October 19th.

The JCAHPO Education and Research Foundation was established in 1990 to fund compelling needs in ophthalmic medical assisting, including the expansion of training programs through scholarships, development of certification in subspecialities, and continued research into psychometric methods of testing & simulation of tasks critical to ensure valid and reliable examinations.
